We landed in Rio at about 7:30am local time, gathered our bags, and headed to the hotel. When we arrived, we found out that one of us had lost their passport, which is one of the worst things that can happen when you travel abroad. So while they ventured out with our professor, the rest of us got to relax by the rooftop pool, or sleep, whatever they preferred to do. The view from the pool was quite stunning, as we could clearly see Christ the Redeemer on top of the mountain, and the rest of the city below.
In order to make up for lost time, we had to reorganize our plans while in Rio, and exchanged this day with our free day in the city.
